Has the idea to help underprivileged children ever flashed into your mind? When I see so many children begging at the streets and at traffic signals, I feel so bad. They are deprived of education, which is very necessary for future survival. Likewise, there are so many poor families that cannot bear the educational expenses of their children.
My friend works for an underprivileged children's charity, an NGO. Since her school going days, she had a very soft corner for the poor children, especially the slum dwellers and she aimed of becoming a social worker. The NGO that she is employed now has served as the perfect medium for materializing her ambitions. She travels all over North India, to find and help underprivileged children as a part of her job. There are a number of NGOs in India and the world, dedicated to underprivileged children's charity, helping poor children become literate.
Education of underprivileged children is given due importance by the government. And I think every nation takes care of this aspect. On weekends, when we friends freak out in the most happening marketplaces, we often come across volunteers, representing some underprivileged children's charity, seeking registration as well as contribution of funds. I felt good asking few of my friends to contribute something for the education of underprivileged children. They did, and we, altogether were able to donate an amount of 10,000 rupees. We really felt proud to be a part of the 'help underprivileged children' campaign.
